"Jesus, what a friend for sinners"

The gospel, meaning "good news," is the heart of the historic Christian faith. The line from the hymn above "Jesus, What a Friend for Sinners" by a man named J. Wilbur Chapman, sums up well the good news. Though created perfectly, everything falls short of perfection. Jesus, the only perfect man, entered into our imperfect world to save us. No matter how well you keep up your image or how sinful you are, we are in need of mercy. The good news is Jesus loves sinners like you and me.
